Vanessa McCarthy, Esq., LL.M.

Partner
Vanessa McCarthy is a partner at Colibri Law Group, bringing extensive experience in immigrant advocacy and legal services. Vanessa co-founded the Orlando Center for Justice (OCJ) and served as Board Chair for nearly seven years. She has been dedicated to helping the Central Florida immigrant community since 2014. Vanessa was previously an attorney at Florida Legal Services, where she worked directly with victims of crimes across the state of Florida. She also served as the Director of Immigration and Refugee Services at Catholic Charities of Central Florida. A native of Brazil, Vanessa’s personal experience as an immigrant fuels her passion for serving others. She holds a law degree from Universidade Candido Mendes in Brazil, a Juris Doctor from Florida A&M University College of Law, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Oregon School of Law. Vanessa is a proud member of both the New York Bar and the Florida Bar. Vanessa is married and has an 8-year-old son, two dogs, and two cats. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
